To have a better understanding of why presidents do what they do, I have interviewed 27 former Latin American presidents from 10 countries. The semi-structured interviews were conducted in the US, Spain, Guatemala, Honduras, El Salvador, Nicaragua, Costa Rica, Panama, Colombia, and Chile.
